Financial Support

No King's Kids staff are supported by ministry funds. Each staff member is responsible for raising his or her own financial support. We urge those who believe in the ministry of KKEP to pray about whether they should become part of the financial support team of a particular staff member. For more information on this area, please call Vinnie Carafano.

God has been faithful through the years to supply our needs and we trust Him to continue to do so. Since His means of supplying our needs is through people, we are simply making the needs known. Thank you for praying about helping KKEP continue to minister to countless young people on the border and around the world.

Vinnie and Jodie Carafano, Directors

In December of 1994, The Lord surprised us with a call to King's Kids after 14 years of ministry as the youth pastor and children's ministry directors at Jesus Chapel East, here in El Paso. Since then, it's been quite an adventure! We've taken teams of young people on short term missions outreaches to Mexico, Panama, Nicaragua, Paraguay, the Philippines, Taiwan, Ecuador, India, Hong Kong, Russia and Ethiopia plus taught principles of youth ministry in Haiti, Jamaica, St. Croix, Barbados, Grenada, Mexico and the US. Leadership conferences have taken Vinnie to Korea, Mainland China and Thailand. Ten years ago our whole family spent the summer in central India preaching the Gospel to people who had never heard Jesus' name. In between trips we work with the local year round teams, write curriculum to disciple kids and teach them about missions, speak in many churches, teach a class on youth ministry for college and graduate school credit and help lead the local youth pastor's network.

Our four kids are Jimmy (age 23), Kimberly (21), Kristin (19) and Julie (16).

Bob & Karen Pofahl

We directed the King’s Kids El Paso ministry from 1992-2004. We’ve also served on the North American and International King’s Kids leadership teams as well as directing King’s Kids activities in the Mexico, Central America and Caribbean region. It was our desire to see our children involved in a deeper relationship with God and service to Him that prompted us to work in 1990 as parent volunteers. Our daughters, Kimberly and Tiffany grew through their teen years doing local and international outreaches as well as special recording and choreography camps. Our son, Jason, did his first international outreach to Grenada when he was 5½ years old. By 1996 we had lead teams of young people to many parts of the world seeing God work through them in powerful ways. Kimberly completed her Discipleship Training School with YWAM in 1994 and graduated from Azusa Pacific University in 1998 with a degree in Global Studies. She married Matt Major that same summer and in 2004 had a son, Vaughn. Tiffany graduated from Azusa in May (2000) with a degree in Communications. She received her Masters in Journalism from Regent University and married Tommy Etterling in 2001. Jason has a recording studio in Dallas and has a vision to establish a non profit internship program in media production for inner city youth. We continue to work with King's Kids El Paso and are active with YWAM San Diego/Tijuana in developing their new campus in Mexico.

Dave & Mary Arnold

Dave and Mary Arnold joined our staff in 1999 after 12 years of leadership at the Youth With A Mission base in Chico, California. Their six children range in age from 5 to 22 years, and some are involved in the local King’s Kids programs. Dave’s responsibilities include overseeing the practical service and construction projects at our camps in Juarez, Mexico. Mary keeps busy homeschooling their children and works with the local teams. Together they founded the Connections ministry to 12-14 year olds. We appreciate their servant hearts and the gifts and abilities they bring to our ministry!
