What:

Spring Break Outreach is a week-long event we have in El Paso. The week is used to reach our local community, give students a taste of numerous types of outreach, and to encourage and challenge students in their personal relationship with God. It is a packed week of practical training, hands-on ministry experience, fellowship with believers from all over the country, worship, and challenging teaching from the Word.

Why:

Not everyone knows what ministry can look like in their hometown. We use Spring Break Outreach to challenge students to think about “How can I do this with my youth group/church/friend group in my city?” During the week, groups participate in a different outreach daily, with practical how-to training and preparation before going to do outreach. We push students to step out of their comfort zone to experience the challenges and joys which come from doing ministry.

Another reason we do Spring Break Outreach is further leadership training for King’s Kids El Paso students. During the week of Spring Break outreach, there are many moving parts and opportunities for leadership. The KKEP students who are a part of our local teams and have done a Spring Break Outreach before are given the chance to step into leadership during the Outreach. That could mean leading a small group of their peers, preparing and leading one of the outreaches every day, or serving in practical ways like washing dishes. The week of Spring Break Outreach is one other way we are training young leaders and empowering them to use their gifts and strengths.

Finally, we do Spring Break Outreach to challenge and strengthen the students who attend. We have groups who come from all over the country, and we can’t be sure where every student is in their walk with the Lord. We believe God is a personal God, and if we didn’t take time to meet with God during the week, the week would ultimately be meaningless. Every evening, there is challenging Biblical teaching, and every evening, God comes to meet the students. Over the years, countless students have told us their encounter with God at a Spring Break Outreach was a starting point in their personal relationship with Him. We know God alone deserves the glory for that, and so we strive to continue to provide space for students to meet with the Lord.

Who:

We accept youth groups, school groups, churches, families, singles- anyone who wants to meet with the Lord, and share His love with the city of El Paso. It’s a week of long days and short nights, sleeping on the floor, good food and fellowship, and seeing God at work around us. If this excites you, this could be for you!
